Library offers ‘Orientation to the Student Multimedia Design Center’
The University of Delaware Library has announced opportunities for members of the campus community to learn about the Student Multimedia Design Center, which is located in the lower level of the Morris Library, and the services offered there.
The orientation sessions are open to all UD students, faculty and staff.
Each orientation session will begin with an informative tour of the studios, classrooms and general computing areas that comprise the Student Multimedia Design Center (SMDC). Participants will learn about the multimedia services and other library services offered by the center.
Participants will meet at the SMDC service desk at the start of each orientation. If the times offered do not work for a person’s schedule, they can schedule an orientation, at their convenience, by contacting the library through the AskSMDC form.
Identical sessions, all led by Multimedia Collections and Services Department staff, are available on:
• Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2:30-3 p.m.
• Thursday, Sept. 1, 2-2:30 p.m.
• Friday, Sept. 2, 10-10:30 a.m.
• Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2-2:30 p.m.
This workshop is available at no charge and is open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. For a complete listing of workshops and to register online at this site.
All visitors to the Morris Library need to have photo identification to enter the building, e.g., a UD ONEcard, a U.S. driver’s license or a government-issued or school-issued photo ID.
Frequent visitors to the Morris Library who are 18 years of age or older and who do not have a ONEcard, may visit the Circulation and Reserve desk to register and have their photo taken for a free Library Frequent Visitor card. Once received, this ID can then be used with the card reader at the turnstiles for easy access to the building.
