UD Police seek help identifying suspect in theft at Outdoor Pool

12:05 p.m., Aug. 18, 2015--The University of Delaware Police Department (UDPD) is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a man who is suspected of stealing a bag from the University's Outdoor Pool, 547 South College Ave., in Newark.  

The incident occurred around 5:10 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 5.

The suspect stole a shoulder bag, which contained two iPhones and various personal items. The suspect was observed on surveillance cameras leaving the area in a white Hyundai Elantra with an unknown license plate number. 

According to UDPD surveillance video, the vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Delaware Avenue, at the intersection with Academy Street in Newark.

UDPD has released surveillance photos of the suspect and his vehicle.
