Aug. 29: Family Fun Day
STAR Family Fun Day event designed to raise funds for physical therapy research
1 p.m., Aug. 4, 2015--University of Delaware physical therapy program students will host a Family Fun Day from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, to raise money for physical therapy research.
Community members of all ages are invited to come out to the Health Sciences Complex at the University’s Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus to enjoy a variety of food and events in the second annual UDPT Family Fun Day.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K
June 6-9: Food and culture series
Activities will include an 80-foot-long moon bounce obstacle course, a basketball shoot off hosted by the Delaware 87ers, a baseball toss game and a silent auction including large-ticket items such as two NASCAR tickets in the Monster Mile Suite at Dover International Speedway.
There will be games such as plinko and bean bag toss and other carnival activities such as face painting and caricatures.
There also will be wellness screenings, and music and entertainment.
There will be food hot off the grill, baked goods, carnival foods like popcorn and cotton candy, and fruits as a healthy alternative.
The proceeds for this fundraiser will support the UD physical therapy students’ efforts in the Pitt-Marquette Challenge to benefit the Foundation for Physical Therapy.
The challenge is an annual competition among physical therapy and physical therapy assistant schools to raise money for this valuable cause.
The Foundation for Physical Therapy provides grants and funding for a large number of high level, peer-reviewed research that helps propel the profession.
For the past 15 years, UD has participated in the challenge and has raised a total of $58,902.
