• Employee-only fitness classes, open to all employees and retirees and their spouses. Some of the offerings include yoga, Zumba and cardio strength. Most classes are led by current UD employees. The fall session will run for 15 weeks from Aug. 31-Dec. 11 at a cost of $35 per class. The classes are open to all fitness levels.
• The six-week “Walktober” online walking challenge returns, back by popular demand. Last fall, over 700 UD employees met the challenge to walk more and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle during the beauty of the fall season. Options to purchase a Fitbit Zip wireless activity tracker and join a team remain in this year’s challenge, which will run from Sept. 28-Nov. 8.
• Those who wish to do both the fall and spring wellness challenges and receive a Fitbit Zip can get them all for a limited time at a discounted price with the Wellness Plus package for $75 Wellness Dollars. Registration for Wellness Plus ends on Friday, Sept. 11.
Full time employees receive $75 Wellness Dollars per fiscal year to defray the cost of wellness programs and services. A new allotment of Wellness Dollars was granted on July 1 and employees have until June 30, 2016, to exercise this benefit.
Details about these and other wellness programs and services are at the HealthyU website or at 302-831-8388.
