Lehigh's Peterson to provide insights on Black Lives Matter movement

1:13 p.m., Aug. 19, 2015--The University of Delaware Department of Black American Studies will present a lecture by James B. Peterson of Lehigh University on the Black Lives Matter movement at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Trabant University Center Theatre.

The lecture by Peterson, associate professor of English and director of Africana Studies at Lehigh, will provide updates and insights on the Black Lives Matter movement.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Peterson is the founder of Hip Hop Scholars, which is dedicated to research about and development of the cultural and educational potential of hip hop and urban and youth cultures. He also is a frequent media contributor.
