Newark Police investigate home invasion robbery on East Park

8:04 p.m., April 12, 2016--The Newark Police Department is investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred at 11 p.m., Sunday, April 10, in the 300 block of East Park Place, Newark. 

The victims -- three male University of Delaware students -- reported that two men walked into the house through an unsecured front door. The suspects, both displaying handguns, confronted the victims in their bedrooms, forced one of the victims to open a safe that was in a closet and took an undisclosed amount of cash and marijuana from the safe. The suspects then fled from the back of the house in an unknown direction.

Responding K9 officers searched the area without success. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspects are described as black males wearing black pants and black hooded sweatshirts. One is 5 feet 6 inches tall and the other it 6 feet 2 inches tall.
