Columbia's Taylor to discuss culturally sensitive strategies to improve health outcomes
8:02 a.m., April 5, 2016--The 2016 edition of the Foltyn Family Health Sciences Annual Lecture at the University of Delaware will feature Janet E. Taylor of Columbia University, who will speak on the topic “Culturally Sensitive Strategies to Improve Health Outcomes.”
The discussion will take place at 4 p.m., Monday, April 18, in the Health Sciences Complex Atrium at the University’s Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus.

Taylor, a clinical instructor of psychiatry at Columbia University-Harlem Hospital, is on the frontline battling the emotional and economic impact of mental illness. She also formed her own company, Mind Projects Inc., which specializes in corporate stress management, and performance and health enhancement.

The annual lecture is made possible by the generosity of Theodore J. Foltyn and Kathi Hetrick Foltyn, University of Delaware alumni who graduated in 1981. The couple established this endowed fund for the purpose of recruiting outstanding speaker in the fields such as behavioral health, nutrition, wellness and disease prevention.
