Account security update
Employees must retire PINs, answer security question as part of April 26 security update
3:23 p.m., April 19, 2016--As announced in UDaily on March 16, the University of Delaware is improving the way members of the University community access their online accounts and secure UD services. This security update requires that employees and students update some of their security settings.
Students, employees and faculty members are invited to complete the security update now. As of April 18, over 22,000 students and employees had completed this update. The update will become mandatory for all employees beginning Tuesday, April 26.

This security update has two benefits for the University community. First, it enhances the security of employee and student accounts. Second, the update makes it easier for members of the UD community to manage their own security settings.
After completing the update, employees will log in to UD secure services using their UDelNet IDs (first part of an @udel.edu email address) or UD ID (EMPL ID) and a password. PINs will no longer be used.
In addition, employees will answer security questions that will make it easier for them to change their own passwords and be asked to review the phone numbers the University has on file.
On April 26, when the update first becomes mandatory for all employees, the security update will be enforced from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, so that an employee having difficulty can call the IT Support Center at 302-831-6000.
Beginning on or about Wednesday, June 1, the update will be enforced 24/7 for both students and employees.
For more information, visit UD IT’s My Security Update web page or contact the IT Support Center. Business process owners can contact Joy Lynam, IT Web Development, at lynam@udel.edu or 302-831-3736 to discuss their applications that require only a UD ID and PIN.
