Lawrence Cunningham to speak in executive leadership series
8:25 a.m., Sept. 3, 2014--Lawrence Cunningham, University of Delaware alumnus and leading authority on corporate governance and culture, will share insights with UD students and faculty on Tuesday, Sept. 23, as part of the Chaplin Tyler Executive Leadership Series.
This year’s lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in 115 Purnell Hall, and Cunningham will discuss his book Berkshire Beyond Buffett: The Enduring Value of Values.

A question and answer session will follow at 8 p.m., as well as a book signing at 8:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to register for the event here.
Cunningham, who earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UD, also is the author of the international bestseller The Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America, as well as a number of widely used educational books on topics such as accounting. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Columbia Law Review and many leading scholarly journals.
Cunningham was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, graduated high school from Girard College in Philadelphia and, after graduating from UD, earned his law degree from Yeshiva University’s Cardozo Law School in New York. He currently works as a professor of business law at George Washington University.
About the Tyler Lecture
The Chaplin Tyler Executive Leadership Lecture Series in UD’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics brings leaders from business, nonprofit organizations and the government to campus to share their experiences and insights with students, faculty and the business community in an open exchange of ideas and perspectives.
The series, which is supported by the Chaplin Tyler Endowment Fund, is dedicated to the memory of Chap and Elizabeth Tyler, their commitment to education and their determination to help young people achieve success in the business world.
