Turn it off

Help save energy by following some simple tips

TEXT SIZE

12:09 p.m., Sept. 2, 2014--With the return of summer weather conditions this week, increased electrical power is expected to be in demand throughout the region.

Members of the University of Delaware community are reminded to save power whenever possible.

This afternoon the city of Newark asked all its customers to voluntarily conserve electricity from 3-6 p.m., today, due to high energy demand. PJM Interconnections, the regional transmission operator, is forecasting high peak electric loads this evening. By lowering energy consumption during peak hours, the possibility of an outage is reduced and power costs can be lowered.
