UD ROTC cadets to host event remembering POWs and those MIA
10:28 a.m., Sept. 3, 2014--University of Delaware Air Force and Army ROTC cadets will host a 24-hour event in remembrance of American military personnel held as prisoners of war or missing in action on Friday, Sept. 19, in the memorial park on the lawn of UD’s Academy Building in Newark.
The event will include remarks at 6 p.m., Friday, by Lt. Col. Christian Cheetham, commander of the UD Air Force ROTC detachment; retired Brig. Gen. Kennard R. Wiggins Jr. of the Delaware Air National Guard; and a representative of the American Legion.

The remembrance is open to the general public, former POWs and veterans who would like to be a part of a tribute “to those whose service the nation will never forget,” according to an Air Force ROTC cadet.
The event will be set up and maintained by Air Force and Army ROTC cadets, and a 24-hour ceremonial guard will be manned by Air Force ROTC cadets.
