Holocaust survivors, documentary filmmaker to address UD class
9:29 a.m., Sept. 4, 2014--Holocaust survivors and a documentary filmmaker will be special guest lecturers in a University of Delaware Jewish Studies class this fall.
The class is taught by Diane Isaacs, adjunct professor who specializes in Holocaust studies. It meets from 2-3:15 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, in 110 Willard Hall Education Building.

Steve Gonzer, creator of the documentary No Denying: Delawareans Bear Witness to the Holocaust, will be the first guest lecturer at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept 18.
The documentary features personal accounts of Delawareans who were eyewitnesses to the events of the Holocaust – survivors, liberators and rescued children.
A UD alumnus, Gonzer worked as an education and training specialist in the Christina, Red Clay and New Castle County Vocational Technical school districts.
No Denying has been screened at the Newark Film Festival, the Rehoboth Film Festival, Theatre N and many local schools, churches and community organizations.
Future guest speakers include:
• Oct. 14 -- Ann Jaffe, Holocaust survivor, who will discuss her remarkable story of surviving in the forest with her family.
• Nov. 6 -- Dorothy Finger, Holocaust survivor, who will present her own story of hiding in the forest and her message for people today.
