Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

A few events are highlighted below.

Spirit Stations

Throughout Homecoming Week, students showcasing their Blue Hen pride will have opportunities to win great prizes at spirit stations located around campus.

Sponsored by the Homecoming Student Committee and the Office of Alumni Relations, spirit stations will give out a different prize each day to the first 400 students who show up wearing UD gear in official UD colors.

Check the UDHC website for location and hours.

There will be music, games, a photo booth, tattoo and caricature artists, inflatables, giveaways, and special appearances by YoUDee and others. Those who attend can show their Blue Hen pride by wearing Delaware blue and gold.

The banner competition is another way to show creativity and spirit during UD Homecoming. All groups, including student clubs, residence hall groups, registered student organizations, Greek chapters and student athletes are encouraged to participate.

Pick up the official banner paper in the Office of Alumni Relations in the George Evans House, adjacent to Trabant University Center, anytime between 9 a.m.-5 p.m, Monday-Friday. Turn in the completed banner by 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9.
