Annual music gala to honor faculty accompanist Julie Nishimura

2:55 p.m., Sept. 2, 2014--The University of Delaware Department of Music continues its long-standing Newark tradition by opening the season with a Faculty Gala, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, in Mitchell Hall.

The program will feature performances by stellar faculty artists, and this year Julie Nishimura will be highlighted for her 25 years as faculty accompanist with the department. The Julie and Friends concert will honor her artistry and contributions to the musical community at UD.

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.
