Sept. 12, 19 and 26: Entrepreneurs speak

Free Lunch Friday entrepreneurial series set at Venture Development Center

2:16 p.m., Sept. 3, 2014--The University of Delaware Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club), in collaboration with the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics' Horn Program in Entrepreneurship, invites students and members of the campus community to hear lectures by promising entrepreneurs by attending Free Lunch Friday events this September.

Each Friday at 11 a.m., students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University are invited to attend a 15-20 minute presentation at the Venture Development Center, located at 132 E. Delaware Ave.

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Each presentation is on an aspect of entrepreneurship, and will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session.

The events are free and open to the public, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch and refreshments are free to attendees.

  • Sept.12: Molly Hayward, CEO of Cora.
  • Sept. 19: Robert Martinelli, CEO of Today Media.
  • Sept. 26: John Kirk, CEO of Muni-Tech LLC.
