Career Fair sets record
UD's Fall Career Fair draws more than 1,700 students to Bob Carpenter Center
8:15 a.m., Sept. 30, 2014--The University of Delaware Career Services Center hosted its annual Fall Career Fair at the Bob Carpenter Sports/Convocation Center on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with record-breaking attendance of more than 1,700 students and more than 200 companies.
Following the fair, many company representatives will be hosting information sessions for students to learn more about career opportunities within their organizations, as well as hiring needs and requirements for full-time jobs, and internships. These sessions will prepare students for on-campus interviews. Check the UD Careers events calendar for participating companies, dates and times.

Businesses including Cigna, Deloitte Services, Bloomberg L.P., Macy’s, Target, DuPont, Air Products and Chemicals Inc., and W.L. Gore and Associates will be holding on-campus interviews for full-time positions and internships. Those with interest should check their Blue Hen Careers account for a full list of openings and instructions to apply.
In addition to the Fall Career Fair, UD Careers also offers several career fairs specific to majors and areas of study throughout the fall. Students are encouraged to attend the following:
- Graduate School Fair – Thursday, Oct. 9, 3:30-6 p.m., Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.
- Law School Fair – Thursday, Oct. 16, 1-3:30 p.m., Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.
- Meet the Marketers – Wednesday, Oct. 22, 1-4 p.m., Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.
- Multi-Ethnic Career Development Conference – Saturday, Nov. 1, Clayton Hall Conference Center (Laird Campus).
- Health Sciences Graduate School and Career Fair – Monday, Nov. 10, 12:30-3 p.m., Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.
In addition, Career Services workshops aim to provide students with professional development advice, job searching tips and online networking tools. Upcoming workshops include “Networking Your Way to Success,” “Acing the Interview: Interview Preparation Skills,” and “Kaplan MCAT Preparation Course.” Visit the events calendar for more information.
