Oct. 5: CancerBWare 5K
Center for Drug and Health Studies announces CancerBWare 5K
1:10 p.m., Sept. 8, 2014--The University of Delaware’s Center for Drug and Health Studies will sponsor the second annual CancerBWare 5K race and walk on Sunday, Oct. 5, beginning at 1 p.m.
Several University organizations, including the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and Colleges Against Cancer are donating their time and energy to help with race day logistics.

CancerBWare is a non-profit organization that is raising funds for colon cancer research and prevention.
The race will begin at the University’s Laird Campus and follow the White Clay Creek trail.

CancerBWare was in established in 2012 by the friends of Brian L. Ware, a University of Delaware graduate who succumbed to colon cancer at the age of 43 after a three and one-half year battle.
In December 2012, CancerBWare made a $10,000 donation to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center at Christiana Care Health System, and has since made a $25,000 donation pledge to cancer research at the center in the next five years.
