Breast cancer awareness
Library co-sponsors collaborative event on breast cancer awareness Oct. 9
11:22 a.m., Sept. 23, 2014--The University of Delaware Library Assembly of Professional Staff (UDLAPS) in conjunction with the Library Staff Association (LSA), the Library Nonexempt Staff Council (LNSC) and the Library Diversity Committee (LDC) will co-sponsor a program on breast cancer awareness on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Class of 1941 Lecture Room. Walk-ins are welcome.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual event to increase awareness of the disease that affects both women and men.

The program is open to the University community.
Lydia N. Collins, consumer health coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region (NN/LM MAR), and Ellen Justice, community health librarian for the Junior Board Cancer Resource Library at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, will provide an interactive presentation on local, regional and national cancer resources widely available.
There will also be an overview of the film and music collections housed in the Junior Board Cancer Resource Library.
Representatives from UDLAPS, LSA, LNSC and LDC said they are enthusiastic about and committed to working collaboratively to increase awareness and educate others on the vast resources available.
