Political film series to feature screening of 'Wag the Dog'
9:44 a.m., Oct. 17, 2014--The University of Delaware’s “Fade to Black: Dark Political Humor in American Film” series will continue with a presentation of Wag the Dog at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Mitchell Hall.
Wag the Dog was directed by Barry Levinson with a screenplay adapted from Larry Beinhart’s novel American Hero.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.
June 6-9: Food and culture series
The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.
The film portrays a Washington spin doctor who distracts voters from a sex scandal by hiring a film producer to construct a fake war.
Wag the Dog, which was nominated for two Academy Awards, was released just prior to the scandal involving President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.
The presentation is free and open to the public, and will be moderated by Lindsay Hoffman, associate professor of communication.
