Student Life Advancing Professionals group sets meetings
8:50 a.m., Oct. 8, 2014--New University of Delaware professionals who work with students on campus and are interested in continuing their growth both professionally and personally are invited to join the Student Life Advancing Professionals (SLAP) group.
The mission of the group is to provide continual and strategic opportunities for professionals at the University, and it aims to engage in learning, networking and personal development for advancing professionals.

The SLAP group is a subset of UD’s Division of Student Life's Staff Development Committee.
Ideal candidates to join the group are those who have graduated from a master's program in student personnel, higher education administration or a related area within the past five years, have career goals to advance in the student affairs field, or are simply committed to helping students be successful.
SLAP Lunch-N-Learns feature a guest speaker or group discussion based on topics of interest to advancing professionals in higher education.
Lunch-N-Learns are held on the last Wednesday of most months from noon-1:30 p.m. with lunch provided.
The fall 2014 and spring 2015 Lunch-N-Learn schedule is as follows:

The SLAP group now also provides a mentor program for new professionals in the field of student fife at UD and a summer and Winter Session book club.
