Career Services Center sets annual Multi-Ethnic Cultural Conference at Clayton Hall

1:16 p.m., Oct. 28, 2014--The University of Delaware Career Services Center will host its annual Multi-Ethnic Cultural Conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Clayton Hall Conference Center. The conference is open to all UD students.

The Multi-Ethnic Cultural Conference (MECC) gives students the opportunity to meet employers who embrace diversity, network with experienced UD alumni, prepare for graduate school, and identify and utilize University resources to proactively jumpstart their careers.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Lamarr Womble, the founder of Passion for Leadership, plans to share his inspiring message that will motivate students to prepare personally and professionally with leadership. 

Womble is a firm believer in students taking on leadership roles during college and maximizing their skills and development. As an inspired leader himself, Womble lives life for the emotions and relationships it brings while teaching others to utilize their passion to impact lives at every moment.

MECC attendees have the choice to attend a workshop that focuses on landing a job or internship or the graduate school admissions process. 

Following the conference, students will have the opportunity to implement what they have learned by attending the MECC Career Fair. 

More than 30 companies will be in attendance, including JPMorgan Chase, National Security Agency, Teach for America, Geico, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Bloomberg, and City Year.
