Former University Global Scholars Award has been renamed IGS-Globex
8:40 a.m., Oct. 9, 2014--The University of Delaware Institute for Global Studies (IGS) has replaced the Global Scholars Award with IGS Global Exchange Program Funding, also known as IGS-Globex.
IGS-Globex provides funding ranging from $150 to $10,000 to support high-impact projects and activities encouraging global thinking and learning.

UD faculty members are eligible to receive IGS-Globex funding once every two years.
Funds may be used for travel, research costs, stipends and expenses directly related to the proposed activities.
Proposals can include outbound activities such as international research, collaboration, and meetings to explore partnership opportunities, as well as inbound activities such as conferences, lecture series, and visiting scholars.
Seed funds for larger grant applications and programs are also applicable.
Unless granted an extension, all funds must be spent within one year of the award date. IGS-Globex funding applications are accepted throughout the year and reviewed on a rolling basis.

About the Institute for Global Studies
The Institute for Global Studies was created in 2009 to enhance the international dimensions of teaching, research and outreach at the University of Delaware. IGS provides leadership and support for programs and experiences that contribute to the education of informed, skilled, open-minded citizens of the world.
Best known for coordinating the University’s study abroad program, IGS also awards scholarships and grants to faculty and students for myriad global opportunities, administers internationally-recognized programs such as the MEPI (Middle East Partnership Initiative) Student Leaders Institute, and sponsors such signature events as International Education Week each fall and country-specific celebrations each spring.
IGS collaborates with other global partners on campus, including the Office for International Students and Scholars, the Confucius Institute and the Center for Global and Area Studies.
