Horn Program event to feature networking, lightning round presentations
11:54 a.m., Oct. 1, 2014--The University of Delaware’s Horn Program in Entrepreneurship has announced “Fast Forward,” an event featuring five-minute, five-slide presentations by entrepreneurs, inventors and community leaders who are shaping the future.
The event, which will include networking time for attendees to explore ideas and make new connections, will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Venture Development Center at 132 E. Delaware Ave.

In a session on “Shaping the Innovation Ecosystem,” attendees will hear from Sharon Hake, CEO and founder of Great Dames; Christopher Wink, co-founder of Technical.ly; and Paul McConnell, partner at McConnell Real Estate.
After a round of networking, a session on “Big Ideas” will feature Yushan Yan, distinguished professor and associate dean of research and entrepreneurship in UD’s College of Engineering; Jennifer Stewart, associate scientist in UD’s School of Marine Science and Policy; and Nikhil Paul, CEO and co-founder of Nfoshare.
Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, including beer and wine, will be provided. Registration is $20 for students with a valid student ID and $40 for adults. Attendees are asked to register in advance online. Those who register before Oct. 7 will receive an “early bird” discount of 50 percent off.
