June 5: Blue Hen 5K
June 6-9: Food and culture series
Christopher is conducting research in women’s studies with a focus on black women in the media and various stereotypes. She also is examining black women in reality television shows and the struggle to navigate mixed messages of what it means to be a black woman in today's society.
The presentation will include a panel discussion, with the panel moderated by Carol Henderson, UD’s vice provost for diversity, and a member of the sorority.
The aim of the event is to generate in-depth debates on the social constructions of gender, which, a chapter representative said, “could be the first step toward impacting the black, female community starting here at the University of Delaware.”
