The Discovery of Chemical Probes and Therapeutic Leads COBRE, led by Joseph M. Fox, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, is seeking applications from early career faculty to expand the scope and enhance the scientific goals of the center, including creating new libraries for high-throughput screening, providing new perspectives on innate immune response and neurodegenerative disease, enabling new screening technology and advancing the state of the art in virtual screening.
The second COBRE, Molecular Design of Advanced Biomaterials, led by Tatyana Polenova, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, is seeking pilot projects for a one-year period to turn new ideas into full-scale individual-investigator and multi-investigator proposals. Any UD faculty member who is eligible to apply for external funding at the University, regardless of department/college affiliation or faculty rank, may apply.
The goals of this COBRE’s pilot research project program are to initiate new research directions, establish new interdisciplinary collaborations, including collaborations with off-campus clinician-researchers, to fund translational research on lead materials developed in the center, to accelerate the development of biomedical applications emerging from the center, and to expand the cadre of junior and established faculty conducting research in the area of biomaterials.
Applications for both programs are due by noon, Friday, Nov. 14. Detailed application and submission instructions can be found under “Pilot Grants Other” on this Research Office webpage.
