After brief introductory remarks by Grasso, the information session touched on a variety of topics, including the strategic planning process, sexual harassment and Title IX, campus diversity, alcohol abuse and town-gown relations.
“Tonight was about listening and sharing. Our success is grounded in the notion that people feel welcomed, people feel heard, people feel valued and that their ideas are considered,” Grasso said afterward.
“I appreciated the opportunity to hear everyone’s questions, concerns and ideas. While there is obviously much work to be done, it is heartening to see the passion and commitment of our community to address these issues since we have to work together to achieve our goals. I look forward to continuing this dialogue."
The provost will hold the next town hall Dec. 2.
