Nov. 12: 'Meaning of Midterm Elections'
National Agenda talk to feature former White House spokesman Mike McCurry
3 p.m., Nov. 7, 2014--Former White House spokesman Mike McCurry will discuss the “Meaning of the Midterm Elections” during a presentation in the University of Delaware’s National Agenda speaker series at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Mitchell Hall.
McCurry served as press secretary to President Bill Clinton, and also has been a spokesman for the U.S. Department of State and director of communications for the Democratic National Committee.

He is a partner at Public Strategies Washington Inc., where he provides counsel on communications strategies and management to corporate and non-profit clients, and is a professor of public theology at the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
McCurry serves on numerous boards or advisory councils including Share Our Strength, the Children’s Scholarship Fund and the White House Historical Association, and on the executive committee of the Global Health Initiative of the United Methodist Church. He is co-chairman of the Commission on Presidential Debates, which sponsors the general election debates between candidates for president and vice president of the United States.
The 2014 National Agenda speaker series, presented by UD’s Center for Political Communication, is titled “The Battle for Congress.”
Sessions, which are free and open to the public, are moderated by Ralph Begleiter, center director.
