4:45 p.m., Nov. 7, 2014--November is Global Month at the University of Delaware with a variety of international events for the UD community to experience.  Coinciding with the U.S. Department of State's International Education Week (IEW), Global Month features more than 20 events planned by and for the University community.

UD Global Month kicked off on Saturday, Nov. 1, with the Multi-Ethnic Career Development Conference at Clayton Hall. Designed to engage students from underrepresented groups and all ethnic backgrounds, the event drew professional organizations interested in recruiting diverse talent. The week finished out with a triple-header on Friday, Nov. 7, including the weekly international coffee hour, an outdoor showing of the movie Up and an evening performance by the South African musicians Kesivan and the Lights.

International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. It was established 14 years ago and is now celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide. IEW aims to “promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States,” according to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs website.
