May 5: Candlelight vigil for Nepal

Nepali student community organizes candlelight vigil after devastating earthquake

5:30 p.m., May 1, 2015--In light of the April 25 earthquake in Nepal, a community of Nepali students at the University of Delaware and local residents has joined together with the Office for International Students and Scholars, Graduate Student Government and Office of Graduate and Professional Education to organize a candlelight vigil to express solidarity for the millions affected and to remember the more than 6,000 killed during the tragic event.  

The vigil will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, in front of Memorial Hall on The Green on UD's Newark campus.  All members of the University and surrounding community are encouraged to attend.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

Those who also wish to donate to rehabilitation efforts in Nepal may do so via the UNICEF Relief Fund at UD.
