Individuals and organizations wishing to offer comments to the review team on these aspects of the program are invited to submit written statements no later than one week before the site visit date. After the site visit, the review team will provide a report to National Sea Grant, the University of Delaware and DESG. The review is part of a larger effort by National Sea Grant to foster increased cooperation among the 33 Sea Grant Programs nationwide and to understand how local and regional programs and priorities relate to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) national needs and priorities. The site review, in combination with periodic reporting to National Sea Grant, will provide the basis for DESG’s rating for Sea Grant Standards of Excellence.

The University of Delaware was designated as the nation’s ninth Sea Grant College in 1976 to promote the wise use, conservation and management of marine and coastal resources through high-quality research, education and outreach activities that serve the public and the environment. UD’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment administers the program, which conducts research in priority areas ranging from aquaculture to coastal hazards.
