May 7: Coming out
Prism to host Coming Out event for graduate students
6:44 p.m., May 4, 2015--Prism, an organization for LGBTQ graduate students, is hosting a Coming Out event at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 7, in Room 205 of Kirkbride Hall on the University of Delaware's Newark campus.
The event is being held on the anniversary of the date that Delaware's legalization of gay marriage was voted into law -- May 7, 2013. The first gay couple married in the state of Delaware, Daniel Cole and Joseph Daigle, will be the featured speakers at the event, which is free and open to the University community.

Prism's monthly happy hour will be held after the on-campus event, beginning at 7 p.m. at Home Grown. Those who attend the 6 p.m. program will receive a coupon allowing 15 percent of their purchases at Home Grown that evening to be donated to United Way of Delaware's Pride Council, which supports the LGBTQ community throughout the state. The celebration also will feature a wedding cake.
Prism is an organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for the LGBTQ graduate student population.
The May 7 event is sponsored by the LGBT Faculty and Staff Caucus, the Graduate Student Government and the Office of Graduate and Professional Education.
