Parking Services asks owners to remove or store bicycles for summer
9:02 a.m., May 1, 2015--As the end of the academic year approaches, University of Delaware Parking Services is ramping up its effort to remove abandoned bicycles on campus.
Every year several hundred abandoned bicycles are tagged, removed and disposed of by the University. This year, officials are asking students and staff members to take their bicycles with them for the summer or officially store them with UD.

Those who no longer need their bicycles are asked to consider donating them to the Newark Bike Project, which can be reached via email at Donations@NewarkBikeProject.org.
Owners who want to have their bikes stored on campus for the summer may do so by contacting Parking Services. For $10, a bike will be stored from late May through Sept. 1 in a covered location on campus.
Beginning the Monday after Commencement, UD Parking Services will begin tagging all bicycles in bike racks for removal from campus. Officials expect to begin removing bikes two-to-three days after they have been tagged.
Bicycles attached to anything other than a bike rack (i.e., railings, benches, and trees) or that present a safety concern will be removed immediately.
