Open Forum Sessions for presidential search scheduled May 18-20
4:40 p.m., May 13, 2015--A series of Open Forum Sessions for University of Delaware faculty, staff and students will be held May 18-20 to gather input for the search for the University's next president.
"In an effort to reach faculty, staff and students before the close of the spring semester, we have set up a series of Open Forum Sessions for the purpose of engaging in an open discussion about your perceptions regarding the University's strengths and the challenges it faces, as well as the credentials, experiences and characteristics on which we might focus in recruiting and appointing the next president," said Jeff Garland, vice president and University secretary.

"The information gleaned from these Open Forum Sessions -- and additional focus group sessions -- will inform the process and development of the position description for the next president of the University," he said.
Sessions are scheduled for these groups at the following times and locations:
Open Forum Sessions for faculty:
• Tuesday, May 19, 4-5 p.m., Trabant University Center Theatre; and
• Wednesday, May 20, 4-5 p.m., Trabant University Center, Multipurpose Room C
Open Forum Session for undergraduate students:
• Monday, May 18, 6:15-7:15 p.m., Mitchell Hall Theatre
Open Forum Session for graduate students:
• Tuesday, May 19, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Trabant University Center Theatre
Open Forum Sessions for professional and support staff:
• Monday, May 18, 4:45-5:45 p.m., Mitchell Hall Theatre; and
• Wednesday, May 20, noon-1 p.m., Trabant University Center, Multipurpose Room C (A brown bag lunch session with drinks provided)
"Your input is important and valued in this process, and I encourage your participation in one of the Open Forum Sessions," Garland said.
A 15-member committee, chaired by Terri Kelly and Don Puglisi, has been appointed by the Board of Trustees to identify the University's next president, and a global executive search firm, Russell Reynolds Associates, has been retained to lead the search.
