166th Commencement exercises set May 30 in Delaware Stadium
1:51 p.m., May 27, 2015--The University of Delaware will hold its 166th Commencement exercises beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 30, in Delaware Stadium on the Newark campus.
Commencement speaker will be David G. DeWalt, a UD alumnus who has been named one of the 25 most influential executives in high technology.

DeWalt, who earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from UD in 1986, is chief executive officer and chairman of the board of FireEye Inc. He joined FireEye, a leading cybersecurity company, as board chairman in June 2012 and was appointed chief executive officer in November 2012. In 2009, he was named one of the 25 most influential executives in high technology by the readers of the industry publication CRN.
The ceremony, which is free and open to the public, is held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony may be shortened.
On May 30, gates will open at 7 a.m., and guests should plan to arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. Seating for guests is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
All graduates participating in the ceremony should arrive by 7 a.m. and should proceed immediately to the procession line-up area next to the Delaware Field House, just north of Delaware Stadium. Only degree candidates wearing academic regalia will be allowed in the line-up area. Procession into Delaware Stadium will begin promptly at 8 a.m.
