University Parking Services announces changes and 2015-16 prices
9:45 a.m., June 26, 2015--University of Delaware Parking Services will be implementing several changes this fall, highlighted by license plate recognition (LPR).
LPR is designed to benefit customers by not requiring permits, making possible multi-year parking privileges and providing more complete data to aid policy decisions.

Display of parking permits will still be required this year, however Parking Services expects to be permit-less for most customers and implement multi-year permits for employees for academic year 2016-17.
In addition to LPR, changes include:
- Vehicle information will be required when registering for parking permits. Up to five vehicles can be added by the user via the web application. Vehicles can be cross-registered on permits, such as listing all family vehicles on your permit, though only one vehicle can be parked on campus per permit.
- The gold parking category will be eliminated. South Campus and Laird Campus gold lots will become red while Ray Street, Wyoming Road and West Main Street Lots will become gray.
- Service vehicle passes will be valid with red permits or higher.
- Bicycle registration on campus will be required. There is no charge and registration can be completed via the same website through which parking permits are ordered.
Parking Services also has announced price increases, which are as follows:
- Motorcycle increased 42 cents per month to $89 per year.
- Red increased by 50 cents per month to $175 per year.
- Gray increased by $1.08 per month to $416 per year.
- Central increased by $1.34 per month to $534 per year.
- Pearson increased by $1.84 per month to $567 per year.
- Annual garage parking increased by $1.50 per month to $590 per year.
