Newark Police seek suspect in robbery of South College Avenue bank

2:51 p.m., June 22, 2015--Newark Police are investigating the robbery of a Wells Fargo bank branch at 622 S. College Ave. that occurred at 9:22 a.m., Saturday, June 20.

Police said a suspect walked up to a teller and presented a note demanding money. The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a black male, between 5-feet 6-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall and of medium build. He was 30-40 years old and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark baseball hat, dark shorts, white socks with black and white sneakers.

Surveillance photos of the suspect are not available at this time.

The Newark Police Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing with this investigation.
