Research Stories

Chronic wounds

UD's Millicent Sullivan and Kristi Kiick have received a $1.4 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for research that could provide a new approach to the treatment of chronic wounds.

Prof. Heck's legacy

The American Chemical Society is highlighting the legacy of the late Nobel laureate Richard Heck, the Willis F. Harrington Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of Delaware with a digital tribute on its publications website.

Nearly 30 fourth-year graduate students will present talks on a wide range of topics including methane conversion, biomass processing, solar cells, fuel cells, solid waste gasification and disease pathology.

The daylong event will open with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the Clayton Hall lobby.

Abraham M. Lenhoff, Allan P. Colburn Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and department chair, will provide welcoming remarks at 9 a.m. in Room 101B.

The welcome will be followed by a series of sessions.

Feng Jiao, assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering, will be the featured speaker during a luncheon at 12:10 p.m. in Room 101A.
