April 10: Designs for Healthy Living
Event to focus on research that addresses public health issues through design solutions
1:16 p.m., Jan. 22, 2015--Designs for Healthy Living, which will explore the intersection between health and design, will be held at the Health Sciences Complex on the University of Delaware’s Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus from 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 10.
The event is aimed at bringing together people who are interested in the scholarship of engagement or action research that promotes public health, environmental health, or social wellbeing.

“We’re interested in providing opportunities to share research findings and design work across academic disciplines in order to foster campus partnerships, as well as to highlight innovative research to stakeholders in the community,” says organizer Martha Hall, senior fashion designer in UD’s Pediatric Mobility Lab and Design Studio.
“Artifact, process and design practice are central to this event,” she adds.
Hall is seeking submissions from those interested in presenting their work from a broad array of fields including but not limited to art, chemistry, composite materials, education, engineering, fashion, health sciences, and sociology.
Deadline for reservations is March 15. Email Hall with questions or submissions.
