March 6: First Friday Roundtable
Workshop to explore student accountability in large classes
10:24 a.m., Feb. 17, 2015--All members of the University of Delaware teaching community, including graduate students and postdocs, are invited to participate in the first Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning (CTAL) roundtable of 2015, scheduled from 3:30-5 p.m., Friday, March 6, in 208 Gore Hall.
Part of the First Friday Roundtable series, the workshop on “Holding Students in Large Classes Accountable for Reading” will look at ways faculty have used writing in large lecture-based classes to increase student accountability and engagement without increasing their own workload.

Melissa Ianetta, director of the UD Writing Center, will lead the case-based interactive workshop.
Participants will first discuss the available resources at UD that can support such work and then work to develop for their own classroom tools that could be used to these ends.
