Newark Police investigate armed robbery at local hotel

12:10 p.m., Feb. 6, 2015--Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Embassy Suites, 654 South College Ave., in the early morning of Friday, Feb. 6.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., two armed suspects and one unarmed suspect entered the front door of the lobby. The armed suspects jumped the counter and demanded cash from the clerk. Both cash drawers were emptied, and the suspects fled through the front door in an unknown direction. It is unknown if a vehicle was used. There were no injuries. 

The suspects are described as a man 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build, wearing red or pink pants and a black hooded sweatshirt; a man between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing all black clothing and armed with a black handgun; and a man between 5 feet 8inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and red pants, armed with a black handgun.
