UD Division 2 men's ice hockey club team wins Mid-Atlantic championship
2:11 p.m., Feb. 18, 2015--The University of Delaware Division 2 men’s ice hockey team won the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Cup championship during a tournament played Feb. 13-15 in Abingdon, Maryland.
The Blue Hens won the title by defeating Rowan University 6-2 in the championship game played Sunday.

UD opened its quest for the cup by defeating Virginia Tech 4-3 in overtime in a hard-fought battle.
The Blue Hens then went on to defeat Liberty University 4-3 on Saturday, advancing to the championship game.
Four UD players received all-tournament team honors: defenseman Trevor Jones, forwards Mark Zeszut and Trevor Richmond, and goaltender Lewis Brotman. Zeszut also was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Next up for the team is the Southeast Regional tournament, in which UD will seek to claim its first Division 2 national tournament berth. The No. 8-ranked Blue Hens will face off against No. 5 Rowan University in a game to be played at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Rink at Warwick in Warminster, Pennsylvania.
