UD Police arrest three men in thefts at library

3:09 p.m., Dec. 11, 2014--University of Delaware Police have charged three men in connection with two thefts at the University's Hugh M. Morris Library that occurred around 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9. 

A laptop and an unattended wallet were taken. Members of the UD community are reminded not to leave personal property unattended.

Based on images from surveillance cameras, UD Police were able to identify and charge Jessee W. Beardsley, 26, of Newark; and Patrick A. Deramo, 27, and Christian D. Johnston, 30, both of Elkton, Maryland. 

Each man was charged with two counts of theft, two counts of third degree conspiracy and two counts of second degree trespassing.  Beardsley also was charged as an out-of-state fugitive for a warrant from New Jersey, and Deramo also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. They are each being held on $5,000 secured bail at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. 

The suspects are not affiliated with the University.
