University announces Employee Wellness fall fitness challenge
9 a.m., Aug. 13, 2014--University of Delaware faculty and staff are invited to register now for Walktober, an eight-week walking program sponsored by the Office of Human Resources’ Employee Wellness Program that will be held from Sept. 29-Nov. 23.
The goal of the program is to walk more and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle during the beauty of the fall season.

Participants can choose to track either their walking minutes or number of steps and have the option to purchase a wireless Fitbit Zip step counter at a 25 percent discount over the average retail price of $60.
Using a personalized online account, walkers can track their daily activity, invite co-workers to join a team, share favorite walking routes, view over 250 healthy recipes, and more.
The cost of the Walktober program alone is $25 Wellness Dollars. For those who would like to acquire a Fitbit Zip, the cost is $65 Wellness Dollars.
Faculty and staff who enjoy participating in both the fall and spring wellness challenges can save money by registering for Wellness Plus and receive both programs and a Fitbit Zip for $75 Wellness Dollars.
