Inaugural Blue Hens Homecoming 5K planned on South Campus

9:21 a.m., Aug. 19, 2014--Registration is now being accepted for the inaugural Blue Hens Homecoming five-kilometer run and walk to be held at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17, on the University of Delaware’s South Campus.

Partnering to offer the event are the University’s HealthyU Employee Wellness Program and UD Athletics.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

• Through Sept. 16: Women of color in academia

The course will be over asphalt and gravel and dirt, winding through the David M. Nelson Athletics Complex and the College of Agriculture and Resources grounds.

Preregistration is $15 through noon Wednesday, Oct. 15. Cost is $20 from then through 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17. Race day registration will begin at 4 p.m.

Participants who register in advance are invited by UD football to purchase discounted tickets to the Homecoming game, a Colonial Athletic Association clash with Towson University to be played at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18. Tickets must be purchased by noon, Wednesday, Oct. 15.
