11:44 a.m., Aug. 13, 2014--The University of Delaware will test the loudspeaker section of its UD Alert System at 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14.

For this test, a message will be broadcast on loudspeakers around the Newark campus through the carillon system.

FYI Stories

'Contactless' ONEcard

The UD ID card will be replaced by the ONEcard, which incorporates a chip and features a new technology initiative called "contactless," meaning the card can be placed near a reader device rather than swiped.

HealthyU in 2015

The HealthyU Employee Wellness program provides resources for University of Delaware faculty and staff to address their fitness-related resolutions in the New Year.

Loudspeakers are located on central campus at Memorial Hall, Pearson Hall and the Trabant University Center; on north campus at the Pencader Dining Hall; on south campus at Worrilow Hall; and on west campus at the Rodney Residence Hall Complex.

The UD Alert System is only used when there is a clear and credible danger to the University community.

All members of the University community are reminded that, for the system to be effective, contact information in the University's databases should be up to date. Information on UD Alert and how to update emergency information is available online

Anyone with questions about the UD Alert System should write to e-prepare@udel.edu.
