WVUD Radiothon announces fundraising goal of $40,000

11:56 a.m., April 9, 2015--University of Delaware radio station WVUD has announced that its annual Radiothon fundraiser, which will open Friday, April 10, and continue through Sunday, April 19, has a goal of $40,000.

Donations will be accepted online at the WVUD website or by calling 302-831-2701.

As it neared time for the processional to open the University of Delaware Commencement ceremonies, graduating students and faculty members shared their feelings about what the event means to them.

Doctoral hooding

It was a day of triumph, cheers and collective relief as more than 160 students from 21 nations participated in the University of Delaware's Doctoral Hooding Convocation held Friday morning on The Green.

Steve Kramarck, station manager and assistant director with University Student Centers, said that as part of Radiothon, many WVUD programs will have special guests and also premiums for donors.

The popular Crazy College program has announced two local guests who were successful Jeopardy! contestants. Kristen Sausville, a four-day champion, and her husband Justin Sausville, a six-time champion, will appear with host George Stewart at 6 p.m., Sunday, April 19.
