Annual festival, concert feature notable performers
8:05 a.m., April 20, 2015--Fifteen steel bands from throughout the East Coast will perform at the University of Delaware’s annual Steel Band Festival, beginning at noon on Saturday, April 25, on the lawn between the Roselle Center for the Arts and the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
At 8 that evening, a festival concert by world-renowned pan artists will be held in Loudis Recital Hall.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.
June 6-9: Food and culture series
The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.
The evening concert will feature artists including steel pan player Kris Paradis, a UD alumnus and instructor in music; marimba and vibes player Arthur Lipner; the Philly Pan Stars steel band; and Delaware Steel, UD’s ensemble.
Both events are free and open to the public.
