Resapalooza resident student appreciation event to be held Friday on North Green

9:22 a.m., April 15, 2015--The University of Delaware Resident Student Association (RSA) has announced that the annual Resapalooza festival will be held beginning at 4 p.m., Friday, April 17, on the North Green.

Resapalooza is held yearly by RSA to show appreciation for the students who live in the residence halls and to celebrate the ending of another academic year.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The event will feature live entertainment from Fiance, The Traveler and The Rodjects.

Several of the University’s registered student organizations (RSOs) and Complex Community Councils (CCCs) have been invited to set up tables with 1990s-themed games, activities and prizes. 

In addition to inflatables, tie dye, a caricaturist and music and games, there will be free food, including cotton candy, popcorn, fruit platters, cookies and more. 

The first 200 students will receive a free, custom-designed Resapalooza T-shirt that they can tie-dye while at the event.

Resapalooza is free and open to all UD students. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date will be May 1.

Resapalooza is one of many events and promotions planned for Campus Residence Hall Month.

The Resident Student Association is the student-run, representative voice for undergraduate students living in the residence halls. 

The organization exists to improve the quality of life of UD’s residential students by offering programs based on students’ interests, as well as promoting a safe, supportive and welcoming community. 

RSA supports students’ rights and strives to enhance the cultural, educational and structural aspects of residential living through connections with dining, housing, public safety and partial funding of complex community council and resident assistant programming. 

Any student living in the University residence halls is welcome to join RSA. 

Students can run for a seat on their community council, become a floor governor, advocate for changes in their hall or attend a General Assembly meeting, which are held every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. in 101 Brown Laboratory.
