Established in 2006, JoVE is devoted to publishing scientific research in a visual format to help researchers overcome two of the biggest challenges facing the scientific research community today -- poor reproducibility and the time and labor intensive nature of learning new experimental techniques.
JoVE is available from DELCAT Discovery, Electronic Journals or by using Get It! through PubMed, MEDLINE, SciFinder, Scopus and Web of Science.
JoVE currently consists of 10 sections:
- Behavior
- Bioengineering
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Developmental Biology
- Engineering (formerly Applied Physics)
- Environment
- Immunology and Infection
- Medicine (formerly Clinical and Translational Medicine)
- Neuroscience
With JoVE, researchers and scientists can cross-reference 4,000 videos with over 4.5 million PubMed articles, view JoVE video articles related to the research body within a scientific research field, and identify and select videos by relevance.
JoVE users can access content from any mobile device by using a mobile app for iOS and Android devices. The JoVE app is free to University of Delaware students, staff and faculty as part of the institution-wide site license.
Users can search for "JoVE" in the Apple app store or on Google Play to download a version of JoVE Mobile.
As required by JoVE, access to JoVE Mobile requires each individual user to create an account. This must be done using a UD email address. Once the account has been confirmed and activated, users can login to the app and use JoVE from a mobile device.
