2015 H.E.N.Stock sustainability event to be held on North Green

8:28 a.m., April 20, 2015--University of Delaware Residence Life and Housing’s program, H.E.N. (Helping the Environment Now) Stock, gained national recognition from the American College Personnel Association’s Commission for Housing and Residential Life. 

The H.E.N.Stock event won the Excellence in Sustainability Award for promoting sustainability through its shop-n-swap yard sale, donated raffle prizes and food and fundraising for the Newark Bike Project.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

This year, H.E.N.Stock will be held from 1-5 p.m., Saturday, April 25, on the North Green.

The event will feature music, performances and registered student organizations promoting their missions. Raffles and prizes will be offered during the day.

Campus residents have donated items for the shop-n-swap throughout the month of April. For these items, students will receive credit that can be used during H.E.N.Stock to purchase new items. 

Remaining items and donations from the event will be donated to the Newark Goodwill, which promotes sustainability and provides jobs to the Newark community. All revenue generated will go towards the Newark Bike Project.
